8 October 2018 – Bafana Bafana started their camp in preparation for Seychelles AFCON qualifying game at FNB Stadium on a positive note with all players available except for strikers Percy Tau and Dino Ndlovu who were expected to arrive later on Monday, 8 October 2018.

Apart from the two, all other players reported for camp by the morning of Monday.

The team held their first training session at Steyn City School in Fourways later in the afternoon and will hold two more training sessions on Tuesday.

The Monday session was attended by several school kids from neighbouring Diepsloot and Cosmo City who could not believe their eyes seeing their heroes in flesh.

Coach Stuart Baxter told the media during the arrival press conference at the team hotel that the camp had started on a positive footing and hoped this will set the tone for the rest of the week.

Baxter also announced that former Bafana Bafana great, Shaun Bartlett had been roped in within the technical staff and that his attachment for now would be on match by match basis.

He took the opportunity to tell the media that it is always nice to work with ex players and asked most of them to empower themselves by attaining coaching badges.

Former captain Aaron Mokoena is also in camp, though he is mostly working within the management, dealing mainly with the team logistics.

On Vincent Pule and Thapelo Morena who both received knocks over the weekend, coach Baxter said the two would be assessed by the medical team before he decides on the next course of action.

Bafana Bafana play Seychelles on Saturday at FNB Stadium (Kick off 15h00) and leave for the Indian Ocean Island the following day on Sunday for the return game on Tuesday, 16 October 2018.

Bafana Bafana are currently second on the log standings having beaten Nigeria 2-0 away and drawing 0-0 with Libya at Moses Mabhida Stadium last month, a result midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo said was not the worst result in the bigger scheme of things.
