20 September 2018 –Head coach of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana, Desiree Ellis has made two changes to the squad that thumped Malawi 6-0 in the previous round of the 2018 COSAFA Women’s Championship currently underway in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

South Africa will face Uganda in the second semi final this afternoon (Thursday, 20 September) at the Wolfson Stadium.

Kick off is at 15h30.

The first change is in goals where Kaylin Swart makes her return – she played in the 1-0 win over Botswana in the second match of the tournament, and made way for Roxanne Barker in the clash against Malawi.

Also returning to starting line-up is forward Jermaine Seoposenwe, the scorer of the last-minute goal against Botswana, but was an unused substitute in the last fixture against the Malawians – she takes the place of Khanya Xesi.

The UWC Ladies FC forward, who has already scored three goals in the competition and is joint top goal scorer with compatriot Linda Motlhalo and Mpeh Bissong of Cameroon, will start on the bench for the first time since the kick off of the tournament.

The backline remains unchanged with Lebohang Ramalepe and Nothando Vilakazi at right back and full back respectively, while captain Janine van Wyk continues her partnership with Noko Matlou in central defence.

The midfield is also the same from the last clash – vice captain Refiloe Jane in the middle of the park with Kholosa Biyana, while Kgaelebane Mohlakoana and Thembi Kgatlana are on the wings. Motlhalo will play just behind lone striker Seoposenwe.
