17 September 2018 – The Northern Cape leg of the SAFA ABC Motsepe League season got off to a flying start this past weekend with some interesting outcomes in day one of the season.
The Northern Cape league which is separated into two streams kicked off on Saturday, 15 September where Kakamas Sundowns were held to a highly entertaining 2-2 draw with Rasta Fa Eagles FC while Hungry Lions were held by the very same scoreline by Tsantsabane Stars.
Tornado FC was the only club to register a win in the stream after edging Kakamas Juventus 3-2 away from home.
Looking at stream B, Maruping United FC were home to NC Liverpool who put up a good showing to come out with a vital point from a 2-2 draw while Colville United couldn’t get over the stubborn William Prescod A FC who held them to a 1-1 draw.
League favourites, United Rovers made their intention clear with a 3-1 away victory over Kuruman Kicks to shoot to the top of the table while Magaraneg Young Stars registered a comfortable 2-0 win at home against Olifantshoek Young Stars FC.
