14 September 2018 –Head coach of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana, Desiree Ellis, has made four changes to the squad that defeated Madagascar 2-1 in their opening match of the 2018 COSAFA Women’s Championship currently underway in Port Elizabeth.

South Africa takes on Botswana in a top of the table clash at Wolfson Stadium this afternoon at 15h30.

Ellis has brought in goalkeeper Kaylin Swart in place of Andile Dlamini who played the first match.

Noko Matlou has taken the place of Regina Mogolola, and she will play in central defence alongside Bambanani Mbane.

There has also been a positional change – Nothando Vilakazi, who played left wing in the last fixture, returns to the left back where the suspended Thato Letsoso played against Madagascar – Chuene Morifi will occupy the left wing position.

Lebohang Ramalepe retains her right back slot.

Gabriela Salgado also gets the nod ahead of Kgaelebane Mohlakoana on the right wing.

In the middle of the park captain Refiloe Jane continues her partnership with Nompumelelo Nyandeni.

Khanya Xesi, the scorer of one of the goals in the last match, will again play upfront with Jermaine Seoposenwe.

South Africa and Botswana are tied on three points each following victories against Madagascar and Malawi respectively – with Botswana top of the group due to goal difference.

Banyana Banyana plays Malawi in their final group stage match on Monday, 17 September.

The tournament comes to an end on Saturday, 22 September.
