12 September 2018 – South Africa national women Under-17 team (Bantwana) will take on Spain juniors in two friendly matches as part of their preparations leading up to this year’s FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup Uruguay.
Bantwana reported for camp on Monday (10 September 2018), and will depart for Spain on 20 September 2018, where they will gauge how far they are in their preparations leading up to the global showpiece which will take place from 13 November – 1 December 2018.
After the Spain tour, the national women’s juniors will fly back to South Africa on the 30 September, where they will continue with their preparations for the world event.
Bantwana are in Group B and will take on Mexico, Japan and Brazil in pursuit of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.
“In preparation for the upcoming World Cup event, we are going to have a number of training camps as well international friendlies to help them get ready for the tournament,” said manager Levy Ramajoe.
“Our first friendlies will be in Spain where we are scheduled to have two matches against top Spanish sides. There are a number of international friendly matches we are working on because we want our girls to be fully prepared before they travel to Uruguay.”
