27 August 2018 – SAFA Tshwane held its pre-season workshop at the University of Pretoria’s High-Performance Centre on Saturday, 25 Saturday August to prepare for the upcoming 2018/19 season. The one day workshop was attended by SAB League Regional teams and secretaries from the Tshwane Local Football Association.
President of SAFA Tshwane, Mr Willie Mooka opened the proceedings of the workshop with some words of encouragement for the delegates, urging the football administrators to voice out their concerns in order for the region to map a constructive way forward.
“A workshop is not a lecture session where attendees just assume the roles of information consumers. It should be an interactive activity where everyone is an active participant. Everyone should feel free to express his or her opinion” said Mr Mooka.
SAFA Gauteng Provincial Executive Officer, Mr Victor Raletjena then took to the podium to take the administrators through the MySAFA centralised system currently being used by the Association to register players, officials and manage league fixtures and results.
Raletjena also dwelled on one of SAFA’s Vision 2022 pillars of World Class Administration, urging the delegates to always strive for excellence in administration and further encouraged them to have business plans for their regions and Local Football Associations.
“It is not good working without a business plan. You will not be able to establish whether you are on the right road or lost because in reality you are going nowhere despite the fact that you are travelling. This is the same when we run organisations without business plans because such plans must clearly outline where do we intend to take our organisations. As a Province, Regions and LFAs, we need come up with plans that are aligned with Vision 2022 and translating it through strategies and targets” concluded Raletjena.
Mr Raletjena concluded by congratulating SAFA Tshwane for leading the five regions of Gauteng on player registration on MySAFA and Soshanguve LFA on being the number one LFA in the province and Region. He indicated that he will be visiting other Gauteng regions to talk about business plans in relation to Vision 2022 and to ensure that Gauteng fully adopts the impressive MySAFA system.
