16 August 2018 –SAFA Vice President, Ria Ledwaba has expressed her delight on the past two Women’s Provincial Football Meetings held in Limpopo and Mpumalanga saying they served as a perfect platform to iron out issues regarding women’s football.

“I am very happy with the turnout we had in those respective provinces,” Ledwaba said. “People on the ground came out in their numbers with questions and issues they wanted sorted out in their respective regions.

“Uppermost in their minds was the criteria which is used when it comes to our national team (seniors and juniors) player selections. They wanted to know what channels are followed for one to fit into our national set-up; and I must say I was very pleased with the response.”

Ledwaba’s next Women’s Provincial Football Meeting will take place in Free State, Bloemfontein on Saturday, 18 August 2018 at the SAFA Lecture Hall starting at 11am.

The SAFA Vice President also added that she would like to have more of these provincial meetings taking place on regular basis to avoid unnecessary grievances manifesting in women’s football.

“Open communication is key if you are to avoid any hiccups in everything you do,” Ledwaba said.

“These last two provincial meetings showed us just how important open dialogue is and how much good we can take and learn from it.

“I would like to see more of these provincial meetings taking place moving forward and would also like to urge the remaining provinces to open up and talk about their concerns as well. This will help us a great deal,” said Ledwaba.
