3 June 2018 – The US Bid comprising of USA, Mexico and Canada on Sunday traveled to Polokwane to make a presentation of their bid to both SAFA and COSAFA members.

The US bid will be competing with that of Morocco to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will, for the first time, comprise 48 teams.

The bid emphasised its strength which contains an ever ready and comprehensive infrastructure underscoring the fact that this will be the biggest fiesta ever. They said having a FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico will provide football fans an experience of a lifetime.

The Americans also boasted that their bid will provide world governing body, FIFA with the biggest revenue ever – US$11 billion.

This will help FIFA build a legacy and help grow the game around the world.

Two weeks ago, Moroccans were in the country where they also made their presentation to the entire COSAFA member country. The North Africans presented their central location, low budget and the country’s heritage as their main points and why the world should give the global showpiece to Morocco.

The voting on who will host the biggest World Cup ever will take place during the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow, Russia on 13 June 2018.
