The new SAFA Council that was voted in last Saturday, will hold its first meeting on Sunday, 3 June 2018 and among the first assignment is the appointment of the three Vice-Presidents.
Members of the new SAFA Council will serve a full term as Council Members, with that term ending on September 2022.
With the exception of two Provincial representatives from KZN Province, all posts of the SAFA Council were filled in last Saturday’s election as per SAFA Statutes. The KZN Province list will be finalised by Sunday.
Part of Sunday’s agenda includes the appointment of the remaining three Vice-Presidents in accordance with Article 32.1.3 of the SAFA Statutes.
The other critical issues which will be tackled include the discussions around bidding for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and partnerships between SAFA and LaLiga, KNVB, English Premiership and English FA.
The new Council will also discuss the intended match between FIFA and CAF legends which will form part of the Nelson Mandela Centenary celebrations.
The meeting will finalise the appointment of the SAFA Standing Committees including the appointment of chairpersons and deputies.
