26 May 2018 – Dr Danny Jordaan has been elected overwhelmingly for his second term as SAFA President.

The SAFA President who is also a senior CAF Executive committee member and former 2010 FIFA World Cup CEO won by a resounding 95.12 percent of the total votes.

Dr Jordaan told the media soon after the vote that the Association would bid for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. He said the first task of the new SAFA Executive was to draw the book bid and do the feasibility study before approaching the national government.

He argued that since the country hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2010, South Africa had the capacity to host a 24-team event at any given time.
