2 May 2018 – Tshwane based side, TUT Football Club climbed to the top of the Gauteng Sasol Women’s League this past weekend following their 6-0 thrashing of Soweto Fabulous at the TUT Stadium.
The club from the nation’s capital’s stay at the top may be temporal as Mamelodi Sundowns and JVW have played a game less and will be hoping to topple the leaders at the summit when they play catch up this weekend.
Sundowns edged a stubborn Luso Africa 2-0 earlier in the week. The reigning Gauteng champions will be aiming for maximum points when they travel to face the much-improved Hallelujah Zebra Force.
JVW, who are determined to reclaim the Gauteng crown left Munsieville Stadium with maximum points after their 4-2 victory over Nicco Tarious. However, a tricky encounter awaits them this weekend when they welcome Luso Africa who have had a poor start to the season and may want to cause an upset against their more fancied opponents.
University of Johannesburg were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Blue Birds while Palace Supers Falcons were also held by the very same scoreline at home by Croesus.
