16 April 2018 – With a place in the SAB League Provincial Play Offs up for grabs, the race for top honours continues in South Africa’s largest grassroots football development league in the form of the SAB League. The SAFA Ekurhuleni stream is fast nearing its conclusion with XI Experience FC, Luso Africa and Highlands Park in the race for a place in the Play Offs which is a pathway to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.
Arguably one of the most popular clubs in Ekurhuleni, Luso Africa with their rich history has played second fiddle to log leaders, XI Experience who have been in scintillating form this season.
The log leaders stretched their lead to a three-point gap after their 3-1 win over Vosloorus Arsenal, capitalising on Luso Africa’s 2-2 draw with Ace Auto Ayoba.
Highlands Park’s 1-1 draw against against FC Benfia dented their title aspirations which sees the championship race now between Experience and Luso Africa.
Meanwhile down in the relegation battle, Jacoba FC did the unthinkable with a 3-0 drubbing of Dream Team to move up from the relegation dog fight while Olympia FC’s woes continued when they suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of a ruthless Black Pirates.
