9 April 2018 –The South African U17 Men’s National Football team (Amajimbos), played two tough matches against Kaizer Chiefs’ U19 teams on Saturday 7 April, where they lost 3-1 in the first match to come back stronger with a hard fought 1-0 victory  in the second match of the day.

Amajimbos head coach Molefi Ntseki was pleased with the high tempo of the matches but rather disappointed in the lack of goals from his charges. Amajimbos displayed character against their more experienced counterparts with a lot of positives coming out of the exercise according to Ntseki.

“I believe we have had a good week of training. We have worked very hard with the players and can see their progress from when they first came to the national team. I am very happy that we had this camp and believe that we are on the right track with our preparations for the hectic year ahead” said the Amajimbos mentor.

“We hope to have another training camp in the near future before kicking off our program of the year in June or July, where we will be able to hopefully decide on a core squad for the next generation of Amajimbos”.

The team had their last training session on Sunday afternoon before the heading back home to focus on their academic work.
