6 April 2018 – The highly-anticipated 2018/19 edition of the Sasol Women’s League kicks off this weekend with some mouth-watering fixtures to kick off what is set to be another thrilling edition of the league.

There will be Sasol League action across the country with the exception of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape provinces who will kick off their season next week. The Western Cape have been forced to move their season to later this year due to the water crisis affecting the province.

Reigning Sasol National Championship queens, Bloemfontein Celtics get the ball rolling in the Free State province when the host Napoli FC at the Westdene Stadium on Saturday, 7 April at 13h00. Celtics have grown to become one of the most feared sides in the league having won the national championships twice in a row.

All eyes will be on former champions, JVW when they host Tuks in Bedfordview this weekend in what should be an action-packed fixture. A battle of skill and wit will be on show in Chloorkop when Mamelodi Sundowns welcome Soweto Fabulous on the same day.

Reigning Limpopo champions, Kanatla Ladies will be looking to defend their title when they kick off their campaign against Morning Stars at Nylstrool Hoerskool. Another interesting encounter to look forward to in Limpopo will be at the Capricorn FET college when Ma-Indies play host to Seven Stars Ladies.

After tasting National Championship experience last year, Coal City Wizards will want to defend their Mpumalanga title when they open their campaign against TK Stars Ladies at Lynville Stadium.

The Bold and the Beautiful have a tough task against last year’s winners, De Scorpio at the Tswelang Stadium. De Scorpio represented the North West in the National Championships last year and will want to dominate the league again this season.

RC Mills are away to Pako Ladies in the Northern Cape stream. Mills flew the Northern Cape flag at last year’s championships where they couldn’t make it out of the group stages.

Batlharos Stadium will host the fixture of the weekend when Kurara Ladies host Sparrows on Saturday.
