17 March 2018 – South African National Futsal team head coach Chris Naidoo has kept faith with the first five players that started against Reunion Islands as he seeks consistency against the Comoros on Saturday.

South Africa clobbered the Islanders 6-0 and they face Comoros in their second match of the Four Nations Futsal Tournament in Mauritius. The Comoros suffered a humiliating 7-2 defeat to the hosts who have a huge crowd backing them with music and drums coupled with some belly dancing cheerleaders.

Coach Naidoo alludes that the team was a bit complacent against the Reunion Islands and starting with the same team offers his charges stability from start as the players will be looking to address the slow start in their tournament opener.

“The Reunion game we didn’t know much about them but I think we had a good game plan that worked well” said Naidoo.

“Now we go into the Comoros game which is totally different, just looking at the Comoros yesterday in their match against Mauritius I think they are not as structured as the Reunion Islands so they shouldn’t pose too much problems provided the team that starts sticks to the game plan and avoid getting carried away by yesterday’s victory”.

STARTING XI: Muzi Mazibuko, Wiseman Cele, Curtis dos Santos, Gordon Donovan
