16 March 2018 – The South African National Futsal team coach Kasaval Naidoo named a strong team for their Four Nations Futsal Tournament opening match against Reunion Islands in Mauritius’ city of Quatre Bornes on Friday night.
The coach admits that their opponents are closed book which guided his selection which is a mixture of experience and youthful exuberance. The match is set to kick off at 8pm local time (6pm SA time).
Arguably the country’s best goalkeeper, Muziwakhe Mazibuko will start in goals ahead of the experienced Trevino Pillay who played in 2016 CAF African Futsal Cup of Nations held in Johannesburg.
Skipper Wiseman Cele another experienced member of the team and the reigning national player of the year will be pulling the strings well supported by the tough as teak defensive star Curtis dos Santos who can also initiate attacks.
Donavan Gordon who brings the energy and high level of fitness in the starting team which is completed by the youngest member of the team Sabelo Mazibuko who will be making his national team debut.
