16 March 2018 – Following their brave showing in the Nedbank Cup against former African champions, Mamelodi Sundown, Eastern Cape side, EC Bees have turned their focus on the exciting SAFA ABC Motsepe League which is nearing it’s conclusion.

Bees have a tough assignment against log leaders, Tornado who only lost once in the league at the hands of Bees. The exciting clash takes place on Saturday, 17 March at the North End Stadium in East London where a win for Bees will edge them closer to the league title.

However, Tornado have been in fine form this season with 60 points from 22 outings. Bees have two matches in hand but anything less than a win this weekend will see them lose out on the title race.

“We have a tough match against Tornado who have done very well this season. Mathematically, it is still possible for us to win the league but we need to make sure that we collect maximum points in all our remaining matches and not easily surrender out title” said EC Bees coach, Chippa Njedu.

PE Stars with 46 points also have their hands up as title contenders but with just 8 matches remaining, both them and Bees cannot afford to drop points as runner-away log leaders, Tornado look set for the title.
