1 March 2018 – A strong SAFA delegation has been invited by CAF to attend and contribute at the forthcoming Symposium on Women’s Football in Africa under the theme ‘Raise our Game.’
The Symposium which is being organised by CAF in partnership with the Moroccan Royal Football Federation will take place from 5-6 March in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
Among those invited by CAF are SAFA President and CAF Executive Committee member Dr Danny Jordaan, CEO Dennis Mumble, NEC Members Ria Ledwaba, Natasha Tsichlas, Deputy Technical Director Fran-Hilton Smith and Ms Mapule Mogane.
The historic symposium will be attended by numerous experts, consultants and legends of the African game. It will elaborate a roadmap and a strategy for development and promotion of women football across the Africa.
SAFA CEO Mumble said a big SAFA delegation invited by CAF was yet another endorsement by the football continental body on the leading role SAFA was playing on the continental and global game.
“CAF have always asked South Africa to play a leading role in helping shape the game in Africa and the delegation to the CAF Women’s Symposium underscores the confidence the continental body has in the country.
“All of the delegation will participate actively during the two-day seminar which I think will pave a new blueprint for women’s game going forward,” said Mumble.
