21 February 2018 – Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has called up a workshop with all National Team coaches to discuss among other things the strategy to big matches and uniformity in approach.

The day-long workshop is taking place in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 21 February 2018.

Those attending the workshop are goalkeeper coach Alexandrio Heredia, interim Banyana Banyana coach, Desiree Ellis, Technical Director, Neil Tovel, his assistant Fran-Hilton Smith, Under 17 women’s coach Simphiwe Dludlu, u20 coach women’s coach Maude Khumalo, Sheryl Botes and Performance Analyst, Shirlene Booysen.

The coaching staff will discuss among other things, the tactical approach especially on big matches, players mental strength and general conditioning.

According to Fran Hilton Smith, it was critical to have a disciplined approach to games and exchanging notes.

Hilton Smith said coach Baxter’s hope was to prepare and making sure South African teams are mentally prepared for big games in general.

“It is a wonderful workshop in which all the coaching staff sit in the same room for the entire day just to discuss football matters. We hope that all of us, our national team coaches will come out of this workshop wiser and mentally stronger,” said Hilton-Smith
