2 February 2018 – SAFA NEC member Ms Ria Ledwaba has been invited to take part in the upcoming CAF Woman Symposium aimed at growing the game of football among women on the continent.
The Symposium will run from 5-6 March 2018 in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
Ms Ledwaba who is one of the SAFA’s senior NEC members will be a moderator in one of the main topics ‘How to expand the practice of Woman’s Football.’
CAF took a decision last year to propagate the game of football among women and the symposium in the North African country will usher in a new era of the game.
SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan said the inclusion of Ms Ledwaba in conducting the seminar will help South Africa grow its game.
“The symposium will bring together some top brains within the football spheres and the fact that Ria will be in charge of some topics, means she will bring back loads and loads of information on how to grow our game back home. I want to wish her all the best in this ground-breaking venture,” said Dr Jordaan.
Meanwhile, top assistant referee, Zakhele Siwela will be part of the officials who will take charge of the Super Cup match between Wydad Casablanca and TP Mazembe of DRCongo. The match which is between winners of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup will take place on 24 February in Casablanca.
