2 February 2018 – Football fans can look forward to some mouth-watering fixtures this weekend when the battle for a National First Division continues in Gauteng leg of the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.
JDR Stars will be hoping to keep pressure on log leaders, Maccabi FC when they host the unpredictable Swallows FC at the Pilditch Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Swallows are still within touching distance of title honours with only six points separating them from log leaders, Maccabi.
Leruma United play host to Dondol Stars in a simultaneous fixture. Leruma are third from the bottom with a measly 12 points and will be hoping to use their home ground advantage and collect maximum points against a stubborn Dondol side.
Later in the day, Alexandra Black Aces will need to be on top of their game against a resurgent Dube Continental when the two sides meet at the Greek Sport Club.
Baberwa FC travel to Chloorkop for a tricky encounter against M. Tigers who have been blowing hot and cold this season. The George Thabe Stadium sees the unpredictable Vaal Professionals take on Tshwane side, Pretoria Callies in a mid-table clash. The side from the nation’s capital suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Thembisa Sport Centre at home last week and will be hoping to redeem themselves against the Vaal based side.
All eyes will be on the fixture of the weekend when Valencia FC welcome log leaders, Maccabi in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The hosts are high on confidence following their 2-0 away victory last week against Garankuwa United while Maccabi failed to extend their lead last week when they hosted second placed JDR.
