31 January 2018 – SAFA General Manager for Football Business, Russell Paul and Ghana’s ex-international defender Antony Baffoe are the only two Africans who have been appointed as General Coordinators at the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia scheduled for June and July.

Russell and Baffoe were among the elite General Coordinators from around the world who were assigned to see the smooth running of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and FIFA has once again shown confidence into the two by giving them responsibilities during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Russell is a seasoned administrator and is among a few influential General Coordinators within CAF who have handled FIFA World Cup assignments.

Baffoe meanwhile has just been appointed CAF Deputy Secretary General and is renowned for his passion for the game and no nonsense approach to things.

The two will be in Russia for the entire duration of the World Cup.
