25 January 2018 – SAFA Youth and Development division will hold its first FIFA Grassroots Program of 2018 in Zeerust, North West from 19 – 24 February 2018.

The FIFA Program is designed to introduce football to children from the tender age of 6-12 years, while developing teachers and aspiring coaches who have ambition to empower their local communities and improve their own skills.

The SAFA region of Ngaka Modiri Molema, will host a five-day workshop for 30 educators who will also have the opportunity to receive the D- Licence Coaching Manual.

The Region will also host a Football Festival on Saturday, 24 February 2018 at Ikageng Stadium, where 400 children (girls and boys) will participate in the processes.

SAFA’s Vincent Tseka said development within the Association’s Regions would be 2018’s watchword.

“We are very excited for what 2018 has in store for the development of football, we intend on holding as many Grassroots programs as possible around the country.

“We are still on track with Vision 2022; our intention is to bring football to each and every household in the country.

“ We are going to introduce the next generation of footballers through these festivals and it is an advantage for the children that the coaches will be qualified to teach them the fundamental of the game,” added Tseka.
