13 January 2017 – South African U20 Women’s national team coach, Maud Khumalo has named a strong starting line up to face Nigeria in the first leg of the final round of FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Basetsana face the Falconets, at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane at 15h00 this afternoon in what is set to be a tough encounter.

Mapaseka Mpuru retains her position in goal as she looks at keeping her clean sheet in national team colours.

Noxolo Cesane starts off at right back with Antonia Maponya operating on the left back while the central pairing will be commanded Bongeka Gamede and Kaylyn Jordaan.

Snegugu Zondi will operate in the engine room alongside Karabo Dhlamini, allowing team captain, Linda Motlhalo to play in her usual free role.

Speedy winger, Lelona Daweti will whip in her trademark crosses from the left while the skilful Mamelodi Sundowns winger, Lehlogonolo Mashigo operates on the right wing.

Thambolinye Mzoneli will be the lone striker upfront.
