8 December 2017 – The Burger King-sponsored South African Men’s U20 National Team, beat Mauritius 2-0 in their opening match of the 2017 edition of the COSAFA U-20 Youth Championships yesterday and Man of the match Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, believes they can only build from that match.

Amajita currently sit top of group B on goal difference to Egypt and Ngcobo believes that they can do even better going forward with the right team spirit.

“We had a very heavy match in the rain yesterday, but the player’s managed to give it their all against Mauritius. We managed to keep our shape throughout the match and although there were moments when tempers were flying high we managed to stay true to our objectives. I believe that football, one needs to learn from the past, although our football has become more advanced with time, we as players were becoming too vulnerable to outside factors such as the rain and other conditions;”said Ngcobo.

Amajita held a regeneration session on Friday and will now turn their focus onto their second match against Mozambique.

This match will be played at Nkana Stadium, Kitwe with kick off scheduled for 15h00.

Egypt will play against Mauritius in the other group B match, at the same venue.
