6 December 2017 – The Burger King-sponsored South African Men’s U20 National Team kick off their 2017 COSAFA U20 Youth Championships campaign tomorrow afternoon, Thursday 7 December when they play Mauritius at Nkana Stadium in Zambia’s sprawling Copperbelt region.

This match is scheduled for 15h00.

Amajita Head Coach, Thabo Senong has a clean bill of health for his squad, a healthy headache on who to select or leave out as all players are available for selection.

Amajita held their only training session since arriving in Kitwe on Wednesday morning and the technical team concentrated on set plays.

“We are happy with how the players have responded to the conditions we faced in training today. After last night’s heavy rains, the pitch was not in the greatest of conditions but we expected this problem,” said Senong.

“All players are fit and are fighting for a spot in the starting eleven, so once again we as the technical staff have a healthy headache to attend to. Many of the players will be receiving their first caps and this is of course great for the development of our team, as we are building towards something bigger within the next two years”.

After playing Mauritius tomorrow, South Africa turn their focus on Mozambique on Saturday 9 December 2017 before concluding their group B matches against Egypt on 12 December 2017. All three matches will be played in Kitwe, Zambia.
