28 November 2017 – The National Futsal League hosted by the South African Indoor Football Association (SAIFA) continued with its fixtures with the only game played this past weekend at the YMCA Indoor centre in Pietermaritzburg were Young Natalians hosted eThekwini City.
With the visitors with a win under their belt in this campaign, they where keen to extend their unbeaten run when they faced Young Natalians at the YMCA.
It was clear from the start that both teams were not going to sit back and wait for their opponents to make their first move as both teams played entertaining football and created many opportunities in the first ten minutes but were unable to find the back of the net due to the goalkeepers who kept out many goals.
Both teams continued to entertain the crowd that where eventually greeted with a goal by Renaldo Donnelly in the 11th minute to give the home team the lead. The celebrations were short lived as Dermain Ho-Chong equalized a minute later which silenced the home crowd. It was end to end action without any success until the 19th minute when Renaldo Donnelly scored his brace to give the home team the narrow advantage at the break.
The second half was even more entertaining with excellent moves created by both teams but was unable to finish. The home team eventually brought the crowd to their feet when Tsepo Lipuko scored their third in the 31st minute. It was evident that the visitors were feeling the heat and were desperate to get back into the game but were kept at bay. The final whistle was blown and the home team emerged winners by 3 goals to 1 to bring eThekwini’s unbeaten run to an end.
