24 November 2017 – New CAF Secretary General, Amr Fahmy paid a courtesy visit to SAFA House on Friday, 24 November 2017 where he was met by Association President, Dr Danny Jordaan and CEO Dennis Mumble.
Dr Jordaan, who is also a senior CAF Executive Committee member and Mr Fahmy, touched on a variety of issues including charting the way forward for the continental football body.
The new CAF SG then briefed selected members of the media on his plans for African football including how CAF intends to help five FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers from the continent do well in Russia.
The SAFA President and CEO then took the CAF SG to Association’s new National Technical Centre, south of Johannesburg where they took him through the grand plan being undertaken at the complex.
Mr Fahmy admitted SAFA was an embodiment of professionalism on the continent and implored the rest of the continent to emulate the Association.
The CAF new boss is here to attend the Confederations Cup final between Supersport United and TP Mazembe of DR Congo which will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday, 25 November.
