24 November 2017 – The Burger King-sponsored South African Men’s U20 National Team arrived safely in Maseru, Lesotho on Thursday night, to logistical changes which slightly alter their program as they prepare for the 2017 COSAFA U-20 Youth Championships, to be played in Kitwe, Zambia from 6-16 December 2017.

The Junior Likuena of Lesotho were initially to host Amajita for one friendly match however; negotiations held between the two technical staff concluded two friendly matches, instead of the confirmed one.

Amajita played a practice match on Friday 24 November and will play an international friendly on Sunday morning, 26 November 2017 before heading back home.

Amajita Head Coach welcomes the changes as this will give him more time to assess the players, while allowing them two matches to earn a spot in the final squad for the youth championships.

“We welcome the logistical changes and are even more grateful to the Junior Likuena technical staff, as the added match is a huge bonus for us. This is not a great time of the year for many international matches so we are happy” said Senong.

“The two matches will allow for better assessment, and the players will adapt even better to the type of conditions they will face during the COSAFA Championships. These changes alter our logistics just a little bit but they also allow us to simulate the tournament fixtures; where we will have one day to rest between matches”
