16 November 2017 South African U20 Women’s National Team midfielder, Gabriela Salgado believes the team has what it takes to reverse the 2-0 deficit suffered at the hands of Burundi a fort night ago in the first leg of the 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers in Burundi.

Basetsana will host the East Africans in what is set to be a highly competitive fixture at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday, 18 November at 15h00.

Salgado, who is one of the most experienced players in the squad, having represented the senior women’s national team has a knack of scoring crucial goals when it matters the most and hopes she will find the back of the net on Saturday.

“Things did not go well in the first leg and we are very aware that conceding two goals away from home is very dangerous however; we believe that we have the hunger to come back this Saturday and progress to the next” said Salgado.

With 27 caps to her name and finding the back of the net 18 times, Salgado is hoping that the hard work being put in during their camp this week will yield the desired results on Saturday.

“We have been hard at work this week and some players have been busy with their matric exams, so it has been an exciting but testing week for us but we are looking forward to the challenge and urge fans to come out in their numbers in support of the national team”

Entry to the Dobsonville Stadium will be free of charge and supporters are urged to come out in their numbers and show their love for Basetsana.
