16 November 2017 – When Tshwane Sports Centre were promoted from the SAB League through the play-offs, they had though that the ABC Motsepe League would be a breeze.
The jump to a more challenging and rigorous league has proved a bit challenging for Thembisa. As a result, they currently languish at the bottom of the Gauteng ABC Motsepe log with no wins after 10 matches.
The three points that Thembisa have this season are thanks to their three draws, with their seven other matches ending in defeats. Their struggles are a bit more similar to the ones that Garankuwa United and Leruma United are going through.
Both Garankuwa and Leruma have won just one match each in 10 outings.
The biggest problem for Thembisa has been at the back, where they have let in 20 goals, scoring just eight. This means Thembisa concedes on average two goals every match this season.
With players like the exciting Thabang Lamola, who was formerly with second placed JDR Stars, Thembisa will want to turn the corner and start climbing up the log standings.
Their last match was an encouraging 2-2 draw away to 10th placed M Tigers.
