15 November 2017 – Buya Msuthu are setting high standards in North West’s ABC Motsepe League following their perfect run after five rounds of matches in the new season.

When Msuthu thrashed AC Milan 5-0 this weekend, they took their winning streak to five in five matches, sitting pretty at the top of the log standings with 15 points.

Not only are they dispatching teams with relative ease as they scored 14 goals in five matches, Msuthu have conceded just one goal this season.

They are now making the work of second placed Polokwane City Rovers and third placed Orbit College very difficult if the two teams are to catch up.

City Rovers trail Msuthu by two points, while Orbit have five points less than the log leaders.

Other leagues are not as things in North West, with Dondol Stars taking the fight to Maccabi FC in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League, while Natal United have ascended to the top of the KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League for the first time this season.

Dondol moved to second on 20 points after 10 matches following their 2-1 victory over Pretoria Callies.

That victory has seen them trail log leaders Maccabi, who also won their match 2-0 against Leruma United, by six points.

Dondol still have a game in hand. Natal’s climb to the top was in a way aided by KwaDukuza United holding early pace setters Umvoti to a 1-1 draw.

Natal did the business on their part, beating Ladysmith United 2-1 to go top with 19 points from eight matches. Umvoti are not far behind though, as they are on 16 points after seven matches.

The status quo remains the same in Limpopo, and Mpumalanga, where Ndengeza and Phiva Young Stars are still at the top of the log.

Ndengeza held on to their spot with a 3-1 thrashing of Giyani Hotspur, while Phiva beat Secunda Stars 2-0.

Bloemfontein Celtic have taken top spot in the Free State ABC Motsepe League after beating Free State Stars 2-1.

They too were helped to the top after Tshiame stuttered at Mangaung Unite with a 1-1 draw.
