15 November 2017 – The South African Women’s U20 National Team (Basetsana) are back in camp ahead of their return leg of the second round of 2018 FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup qualifier against Burundi, which will be played this Saturday, 18 November 2017 at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
This match is scheduled for 15h00.
Basetsana are on the back foot, following their 2-0 defeat against the Swallows of Burundi and will be looking to overcome the East Africans in order to progress to the third round of African qualifiers.
Head Coach of the team, Maud Khumalo understands the significance of the match and the great potential for Women’s football in South Africa to grow through them qualifying for the 9th edition of the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup, which will be staged by France between 5 and 24 August 2018.
“We are glad that we are back in camp and the players are all responding well to training. We are fully aware of the mistakes we made in the first leg and we are working hard on rectifying those errors” said Khumalo.
“We believe we have what it takes to come back to the 2-0 down and qualify for the third group but we would love to urge all supporters to come and show their love for Basetsana this coming Saturday”
Entry to the Dobsonville Stadium will be free on Saturday and fans in and around Soweto are urged to come show their love for Basetsana in this important clash.
