11 November 2017 – Dondol Stars’ next ABC Motsepe League clash against Pretoria Callies has a huge incentive in that it can see them climb to second spot on the log.
But for their coach Joshua Malwa, that is not the motivation.
Dondol, who are third on 17 points, having placed one match less than second placed JDR Stars, who are on 19, will play at the Pilditch Stadium on Saturday at 3pm.
“The match will not be easy. This is a derby and Callies are a very organised team with very speedy players.
“We will have to be vigilant because they can hurt us,” Malwa said.
“But we are confident of a good result. Our main aim is to get three points and keep in contention for promotion. We will not think about second spot because that is not why we are fighting so hard,” Dondol coach said.
Malwa further revealed the secret behind his team doing well in the first half of the season.
Only top placed Maccabi and second placed JDR have been doing better than Dondol but that has not discouraged Malwa.
“Our secret is that we fight for each other in such a way that we have become a family. We know that the ABC Motsepe League in Gauteng is tough and competitive but we still manage to be motivated and keep to our goals. We are a hard working team and the passion we have will take us far,” Malwa said.
