2 November 2017 – Preparations have been done, the teams are ready, now the fans need to play their part and pack the Jan Smuts Stadium in their numbers for the best that the Sasol League has to offer.

Kicking off the weekend’s festivities will be the all-important Coaches Workshop on Friday, 3 November, led by the Sasol Banyana Banyana technical team and will consist of a skills development and information sharing workshop focussed on the advancement of women’s football coaches in the province at the Jan Smuts Stadium.

On Saturday, 4 November, the creme de la crème of women’s football will go head to head to determine the provincial champions that will represent the province at the Sasol League National Championship to be held in Nelspruit from 5-10 December 2017.

“Football is taking centre stage in East London this weekend. The Sasol League will put on a dazzling show featuring an array of skill and innovation that just has to be seen. We call upon all football fans to join in the fun on Saturday and support women’s football,” said Nozipho Mbatha – Sasol Group Brand Marketing Manager.

Notably, Sasol recently renewed their sponsorship of the country’s premier women’s football league, an initiative that has played an integral part in contributing to the growth and development of women’s football in South Africa for another four (4) years until 2021.

The Sasol League takes place across all nine provinces of South Africa. Matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoon and will culminate with the National Championships that take place over a period of one week towards the end of the year.
