26 October 2017 – This weekend will see the Mbalenhle Sasol Club host the exciting Mpumalanga Sasol League promotional play-offs. Eight teams, four each from two streams, have made it to the phase of the tournament that is expected to be fiercely contested.
The day will start with Two Touch FC taking on TK Stars Ladies at 08h00. That clash will be followed by Losta Ladies FC against Francis Ladies FC at 10h00.
The two remaining clashes of the day will be between Leandra FC against Flamingo FC at 12h00 in the afternoon, followed by the last fixture of the day to be contested by Coal City Wizards FC against Nkomazi Ladies FC.
City Coal qualified for the play-offs after they beat Moving Church FC 2-0 to finish on top of Stream A’s 14 match season with 32 points. The 32 points came as a result of their 10 victories all season, two defeats and two draws.
Right on their heels was Leandra, who finished the season on 28 points after they drew 1-1 with Losta Ladies. That saw Leandra finish the season with eight wins, four draws and two losses. Losta Ladies and Two Touch completed the top four from Stream when they finished on 26 and 24 points respectively.
Stream B, which saw all the teams play a total of 12 matches each, was just as competitive, with Nkomazi leading the standings on 28 points that they accumulated from their nine victories, one draw and two defeats all season.
Flamingo, who will face Leandra, finished second in Stream B with 25 points, a result of their seven wins, four draws and one loss the entire season.
Francis Ladies held on to third place, while the fourth spot was fiercely contested between TK Stars and Butterfly Ladies, with TK Stars earning a place in the play-offs thanks to their superior goal difference.
The Sasol League play-offs will be at the eMbalenhle Sasol Club Field A on Saturday 28 October.
