16 October 2017 – SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan has paid tribute to veteran football administrator Dan Leboa who died last Friday.

Leboa served as Premier Soccer League (PSL) acting general manager among his most prominent assignments but was a familiar face within the local game.

“We have lost one of the biggest brands in local football. Dan was not only a hardworking football person; he breathed, lived and represented what football administration is,” said Dr Jordaan.

“Here is one individual who was passionate about what he lived for and I am happy Dan ran his race to the full.”

The SAFA President said the late Leboa was an epitome of dedication and efficiency.

“He had a shaping influence on how the game is run on professional level. He used to run the OK league, which is now the ABC Motsepe league and he did so to the best of his ability,” added Dr Jordaan.

This week, Jomo Cosmos owner, Jomo Sono described Leboa as an encyclopaedia of the local game saying he knew every single rule and every line in the constitution.

“Not only was he an administrator of note but also a good human being who loved to laugh,” said Sono.
