26 September 2017 – The South African U20 women’s national team assembled for national team duty on Monday, 25 September in Johannesburg following their interim break after thrashing Namibia 5-0 in the first leg of the FIFA 2018 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, 17 September.

Basetsana continue their preparations to qualify for their maiden FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup set to take place in France between 5 and 24 August next year.

Carrying a comfortable five goal cushion heading to Namibia, Basetsana will resume their preparations this afternoon at the NIKE Training Centre in Soweto for the return leg scheduled for Sunday, 1 October at the Sam Nojuma Stadium in Windhoek, Namibia.

Basetsana have been lethal in front of goal while keeping things neat and tidy in their last two matches. Their 5-0 win over Namibia was preceded by the very same scoreline victory over the senior Swaziland women’s national team in their own backyard.

Head coach of Basetsana, Maud Khumalo has only made one change to the squad of 22 that played against Namibia, bringing on goalkeeper, Robyn Coetsee from the HPC in the place of Mamelodi Sundowns shot stopper Loretta Mokoena.

Basetsana travel to Windhoek on Friday, 29 September.
