17 September 2017 – Head coach of the South African U20 Women’s national team has named her starting line-up that will face off against Namibia in the opening leg of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup at the Dobsonville Stadium today at 15h00.

Khumalo has stuck to the winning formula that saw her side register a convincing 5-0 win over the senior Swaziland women’s national team last week in Swaziland.

Mapaseka Mpuru will man the post as the goalkeeper and shielded by the central pairing of Bongeka Gamede and Antonio Maponya. Lindokuhle Gladine will operate from the right back while Noxolo Cesane does the same on the left back position.

Nosipho Mahlawe maintains her role as the team’s anchor with Katlego Mabuza and Linda Mohlalo as the attacking midfielders. Lelona Daweti who scored a hatrick against Swaziland retains her positon as right wing while Gabriela Salgado operates on the left wing.

Zimasa Dekeda has been tasked as the lone striker upfront.
