The aspiring match officials which also included young female referees had the opportunity of interacting with some of the country’s most respected match officials in Sylvester Ndaba and Ian McLeod throughout the five-day workshop.

Speaking from his hometown of Mtubatuba, Mdladla said that the workshop really helped him develop his confidence and skill to become a better match official.

“I must say that the workshop was a real eye-opener for me. The game of football evolves so much and as a match official, you need to be up to date with the latest trends of the game. As young match officials, we need to keep harnessing our craft and attending refresher courses to ensure that we professionalise the game even at SAB League level” said Mdladla.
