30 July 2017 – Gauteng defended their SAB U21 National Championships title after coming back twice from behind in a highly entertaining final played at the Nike Centre in Soweto. Following a 3-3 draw in regulation time, the title had to be decided in the lottery of penalties where Gauteng emerged 4-1 winners.
In an earlier match, Mpumalanga overcame a resilient Western Cape in the 3rd/4th place play off to finish in third place.
