28 July 2017 – Tournament hosts, Gauteng set up a dream final against reigning champions, USSA after both sides secured their placed in the finals of the 2017 SAB U21 National Championships on Friday, 28 July.

The victory did not come easy for the home team who had to fight off a highly spirited Western Cape side but a goal in each half ensured the hosts get a place in Sunday’s final.

In a simultaneous fixture, USSA displayed their prowess with a 5-2 drubbing of Mpumalanga in what was a one-sided affair. The champions were however held in the first half by Mpumalanga who snatched a late equaliser before the break.

The champions returned a much more ruthless side in the second half and put their opponents to the sword.
