27 July 2017 – The last four teams to compete for the SAB U21 National Championships crown were confirmed on Thursday, 27 July at the NIKE Training Centre in Soweto.

Tournament hosts, Gauteng alongside Western Cape, Mpumalanga and defending champions USSA have all secured their places in the semi-finals set to take place on Friday, 28 July in what promises to be thrilling encounters for a place in the finals.

The hosts finished top of Group A with 9 points after easily brushing aside Limpopo by 5-1 earlier today while Mpumalanga, who weren’t in action today finished the job on Wednesday, winning their last group match against Northern Cape by 2-0 to make it nine points from four matches.

Reigning champions, USSA had it tough in their group as the team to beat but showed their mettle with a 4-1 thrashing of North West in their last Group B match to finish top of the group with eight points.

Western Cape emulated the champions with a similar scoreline against bottom placed KwaZulu-Natal to confirm their place in the semi-finals, finishing the group with seven points.
