24 July 2017 – As the youngsters who will be playing in the SAB National U21 Championships that will take place at the Nike Training Centre in Pimville, Soweto from Tuesday,25 July prepare for the tough matches, they can take inspiration from the fact that their peer, Keletso Makgalwa is soon to play PSL football.

What will be most motivating about this is that the 20-year-old striker, who was recently named Multichoice Diski Challenge Player of the Year, kicked off his football career in the SAB League.

At that time, Makgalwa was a pint-sized boy with bags of talent and a dream to make it big.

The attacker is currently among the players at Mamelodi Sundowns who are products of the tournament and ready for the big stage.

Makgalwa was one of the shining lights for Limpopo back in 2014  in a tournament that was held in Mafikeng.

“I started in the SAB National Championships. I was playing for Limpopo and at that time, I was very young. That was the time where my dream of turning professional started and my big dream of one day playing for Arsenal came to being,” Makgalwa said.

“This is why I am excited for the tournament that is coming up. I know they will be young players like me who have talent and are hoping to being spotted by the scouts. I want young players to see my journey as a motivation because I am standing here as an MDC Player of the Year with a chance of playing for Sundowns first team. That tournament made me realise that dreams are possible,” Makgalwa said.

Makgalwa is one of the few players at Sundowns who were part of the tournament, with Themba Zwane also a product of the SAB League.
