17 July 2017 – Two South African referees have been invited to  the upcoming COSAFA U17 Championships, set to take place from 21 to 30 July in Mauritius

Jelly Chavani (21) and Athenkosi Ndongeni (25) who hail from Limpopo (Louis Tritchard) and Eastern Cape (East London) respectively jetted off to Mauritius on Saturday, 15 July for the COSAFA U17 Championships making this their very first big international invitation.

The duo will be in Mauritius for the duration of the tournament amongst some of the best referees on the African continent.

“We wish Jelly and Athenkosi the best of luck in Mauritius and we are confident that they will proudly fly the South African flag high with quality officiating. This is testament of the hard work done by SAFA’s Refereeing department and we look forward to producing more referees for such tournaments” said SAFA’s Head of Referees department, Peter Sejake.
