2 July 2017 – Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter has announced his starting eleven for the 2017 COSAFA Castle Cup quarterfinal clash against Tanzania.

Baxter has picked eight uncapped players in the starting line-up.

In goals Boalefa Pule will make his debut for Bafana Bafana.

Also making their first appearances will be defenders Thendo Mukumela at right back, Innocent Maela at left back as well as Mario Booysen at central defence where he will work alongside Lorenzo Gordinho (who made his debut against Zambia last month in an international friendly match at the Moruleng Stadium).

Captain Lehlogonolo Masalesa will also don the Bafana Bafana jersey for the first time in the middle of the park and will partner Cole Alexander, who replaced the injured Aubrey Ngoma.

Orlando Pirates winger Riyaad Norodien will hit the ground running as he arrived in the Bafana Bafana camp on Saturday night (1 July 2017) to take the place of Thabo Cele who has been released from the squad as his club in Portugal has requested that he return for pre-season training. Cele has already left the Bafana Bafana camp).

Norodien will also be making his debut together with together with another winger, Liam Jordan as well as midfielder Jamie Webber.

Judas Moseamedi will play as a lone striker.

The match takes place this afternoon (Sunday, 2 July 2017) at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.

Kickoff is at 17h00 and entry is free.
