Limpopo based football team Magesi FC are looking at their return to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League as a learning curve.

The side that is based in Kgabo Park in Moletjie returns to the third tier of South African football after spending just one season in the National First Division.

They were relegated alongside Santos after they finished 15th on the log with 31 points from 30 games.

Magesi, currently coached by Sheppard Murape, believe that their knowledge of the ABC Motsepe League in Limpopo will help them navigate what is to be a tough and demanding season.

With that said, their General Manager Hero Makgamatha does not think it will be an easy breeze back to the NFD as they will face teams that are as determined to go one tier up.

“We have been in this league before and know it’s quality and competitiveness. We still have the play and strategy we used to win the league when we were in the ABC Motsepe League but teams have improved and that will make it even tougher for us,” Makgamatha said.

The side from Kgabo Park said a good recruitment policy and planning will put them in a good position.

“Other teams have not been where we have. We know the mistakes we made. If we sign well and prioritise well, we will make it. But our biggest focus is how we will win the league while also looking at how we will need to win the ABC Motsepe National Play Offs.

“Because in my opinion, anyone can win the league. But it is the playoffs that demand more. The level in the playoffs is higher and that means you have to strengthen well and have systems that work,” Makgamatha said.
