Acornbush United may have had their hearts broken by narrowly missing out on qualifications for the National First Division for the next season, but the side from Mpumalanga is not entirely discouraged.

More than anything, an appearance in the SAFA ABC Motsepe Play-offs that were held in East London recently have encouraged Acornbush to try again next season with the hope of better outcomes.

As such, the ABC Motsepe League champions of Mpumalanga are strengthening their squad to stand a better chance of winning the league again and fare better in the play-offs. This is according to club representative Boyce Masilela.

“We are starting with our preparations for next season in a month. We will be making a few changes to our team in areas where we feel will be necessary,” Masilela from Acornbush United said.

“The National First Division remains our biggest dream. Of course, we would ideally love to see ourselves in the PSL, but we first have to aim at the NFD. That is why we will be bringing in a few new faces to the ream and we will release some players. The plan is to have a strong team that will be able to win the ABC Motsepe League in Mpumalanga again and go on to win the play-offs as well,” Masilela said.

Acornbush will be out to hold their own as teams like TS Galaxy FC, Witbank Citylads, Phiva Young Stars, Mapulaneng United and Mlambo Royal Cubs will also be having their eye on winning the league
