South African Football Association (SAFA) referee, Victor Gomes has been confirmed as one of the match officials set to officiate in this year’s COSAFA Castle Cup taking place in Rustenburg from 25 – 9 July.

The 34-year-old whistle blower is fresh from CAF duty in Algeria where he, alongside Lindikhaya Bolo, Sandile Dilikane and Victor Hungwani were in charge of a high-profile match between MS Alger and Zamalek.

Gomes remains to be one of SAFA’s trusted referees with the on-going officiating assignments being handed to him by CAF and FIFA.

“We wish Gomes the best of luck in the COSAFA Cup and trust that he will be exemplary in demonstrating the good work that SAFA is doing in developing high quality referees” said SAFA’s Head of Refereeing, Mr Peter Sejake.
