Seven stirring Sasol League fixtures have been scheduled for this weekend in the Western Cape province where Cape Town Roses are still ahead of the pack.

UWC Ladies will be hoping to get maximum points that could get them top of the table while Burnley United will be in search of their first win of the season against a resurging Manenburg Ladies side.

The weekend’s action will start with a clash between Dangerous Heroes and Ikamva FC on Friday evening (16 June 2017) at Browns Farm Sport Field, with kick-off scheduled for 19h30. The home side, Heroes, are a point behind Ikamva and a win will propel them to 18 points, occupying fifth spot on the standings.

On the same evening, Manenburg Ladies play host to a Burnley Ladies side that is yet to conjure up a win this season with only five draws out of the nine matches played thus far. Manenburg is currently sitting in position 13 with 17 points.

Saturday’s (17 June) action will see a whole host of matches in the Cape.

First on the cards will be an encounter between Portia United, who are at the basement of the table, and Southern Stars United at 14h00 at Loerie Park Stadium. Portia lost the last the three fixtures and will be looking to return to their winning ways. Stars, meanwhile, has had an inconsistent season thus far, and a loss could compound their woes even further.

At the same time at the University of the Western Cape, UWC Ladies, who are also unbeaten in second spot, will entertain Santos Ladies in what is billed as the clash of the weekend. Santos missed out on maximum points in their last fixture and will be looking to dust themselves up.

On Sunday afternoon (18 June), Virgo will be looking to get further away from the bottom half of the standings when they welcome Spurs Ladies at Rocklands.

In the other match on the same day, log leaders Cape Town Roses will go toe to toe against Maties FC at 15h00 at NY 49.

Maties, in 11th position on the log, will be in search of their third win of the season. Roses, on the other hand, will hope to continue with their excellent start to the season that has seen them go unbeaten in all their nine matches so far.

Vasco Da Gama and Defence FC are the two sides that will not be in action this weekend.
